Internal Communications

Internal communication also known as Organizational or Employee Communications involve the communications that are specifically intended for distribution amongst all or various levels of an organization.  They can be business unit or department specific, limited to certain only levels of management, they could vary from such things as calendar events and retirement announcements to highly confidential communications. Internal communications are a necessary part of any organization in order to stay connected with employees, build trust, effectively engage in two-way symmetrical communication environment and have a sense of family.

Managing change of any type will most likely have an effect on your business.  Whether it’s good news or bad  Internal Communications are a must to effectively handle every situation.  Timely and responsible communications internally are a must in the event of an emergency or crisis, internal communications are provide employees with guidance, a plan or expected response in order to handle a potentially dangerous situation.

Usually a subset of External Communications or PR, Internal communications helps employees to understand the organization’s vision, values and culture. Open lines of communication throughout an organization by way of effective internal communications can build sense of stronger relationships and a sense of community.
